Gillian: Recently I had a potential offer on the table for my cabin in Pine Creek. The buyer requested an appraisal before making an offer, which I agreed to. This "appraiser" really ended up doing a home inspection, offering areas which he felt needed to be addressed. Naturally the buyer hinted that they would be taking the cost of fixing these areas off of their offer. The areas which the appraiser/inspector felt needed work were not legitimate, as they were all brand new. We told the buyers they were not playing fair, and the offer was subsequently never made. What could I have done differently in this situation?
